INQUIRY: 10 Questions with Kelly Bolton
Kelly Bolton is not afraid to mix it up. It can be anything from big tricks to tech moves. He can ride anything put in front of him. Kelly is comfortable infront of the camera, either on a bike and perched on a ladder with a speeding car coming at him or behind the scenes capturing the moment. Want to know a little more about Kelly? Well, here are 10 random questions and the answers we inquiredfrom Kelly.
1. What is the deal with LAX Films?
LAX Films is a crew of dudes that live in or around the LAX area. We began collecting footage of friends and random sessions. My friend Tyler Fujii upped his camera game and decided to make the filming official. Since I do editing and motion graphics, we thought it was the perfect opportunity to make a full length DVD straight out of LA. Were hyped and I hope we can produce an awesome video.
2. That sounds awesome. Was it you that started this?
Mostly Tyler... I was just the hype man ha-ha. He literally lives at the airport (across the street), so he came up with calling it LAX Films. I was down from the start and so was our good friend Eric "Barney" Cuiper. So all three of us pushed to get the ball rolling.

3. So how's the leg doing?
Its good! feels so good to be riding again. Still have some weakness in the leg and have a hard time with certain tricks. Mostly things like manuals and ice picks. They use a lot of leg power. If I do those too many times I’m done with the session. It’s all a waiting game. It will be a year on Oct.10th so I’m pretty proud of being this close to 100% Snapping your leg in half humbles you and makes you grateful for every type of riding.
4. Has it made you look differently at riding?
I look at riding more creatively and technical. I’m pretty sure I was already on the road to not sending myself down the biggest thing I could find anymore ha-ha. I choose things to film more wisely and I’m not stressed if things don’t work out or don’t feel right. Were as before I would push myself threw a situation that I was unsure of or unsafe.

5. What BMX websites do you go to the most?
Basically I’m on Vital, Comeup, and Bmxunion. I can usually get all I need there. Other than that just friends word of mouth about a video.
6. What are your top five places that you have traveled to?
1. Barcelona
2. Germany
3. South of France
4. Lake Tahoe
5. Colorado

7. When was the last time you saw Sasquatch?
I saw him lurking around a DC Ken Block poster signing video shoot not too long ago. Recently he’s been hiding but its hot and he’s all hair. He prob come back out when winter comes closer. I’ve herd that he’s more into riding these days, and studying the Useless video to get his skills down.
8. If you had to choose between riding a razor scooter or unicycle in place of your BMX, what would it be and why?
Unicycle...because I actually have one and its fun. Plus I would need a scooter build by aliens to hold up my 215lbs on it. I’ve seen scooters snap but not unicycles.
9. What was the last photo you put up on Instagram(at the time of this interview)? Went to the 605 Ditch with my lady and she shot this photo. Remembering good times with the Eastern crew.

10. Anything cool in the future coming up?
The future is holding things that I cant imagine. A year ago I could not imagine I would be where I am now. I’m looking forward to ending this LAX DVD, checking off tricks in my little black book, and working towards a comfortable stable lifestyle.
