Tea Time Tour Day 1
Scott Hamlin and I woke at 5am this morning to drive to London, Heathrow to pick up Kelly Bolton and Josh Perry. It was suppose to be a two hour trek but turned into three because of traffic. But that was fine by me as it gave me a chance to learn a bit more about Scott since this was the first time that I have met him. Doyle told me he was a good guy and if he says some one is cool then you know it to be the truth. And he was right. He's pretty high-energy and loves BMX to the fullest. It was a nice ride. We got to the airport scooped up Josh and Kelly and headed to Rushden to do a little meet and great at Send-it Bike shop. It's a real good shop in a small town that has a big focus on BMX. Karl, the owner is a rider that has been around for a while and knows his stuff. There were a bunch of cool kids that showed up and Karl supplied pizza and had a bunny hop contest. Local rider, Ryan Hills took the win and even barely beat out Eastern's Kelly Bolton. After things wound done at Send-it we headed to a small local park for a quick session on some really fun ramps.
Once we had our fill it was time to hit up Adrenaline Alley Skatepark in Corby. We didn't really get to ride there that long because one of the workers had to go home. It was a shame because that park is amazing. We still managed to get a few clips though. So now we are resting up for day two. Here is the schedule if you can make it:
Wednesday July 7th - 12pm / Manchester Cycle Exchange / Liverpool (shop meet & greet)
3:30pm / Hobson Cycles / Liverpool (shop meet & greet)
Evening session at Rampworx / Liverpool

Behind Send-It the party was getting started.

After flying eight hours over night and driving three hours to the shop Kelly
still got his hop on.

But it was Ryan Hills that got the highest just over 40 inches. I also saw him do
a flip fake at the local park. I love flip fakies.

A local Rushden brought out his collection of old bikes...

...and he let me ride this Penny-Farthing. It was awesome. Rolled up pant legs, scenester style.

This shot of Scott and Kelly was the only one that we took at Adrenaline Alley.
If only we had more time to get riding shots...
